Revera’s first renewed long term care home set to open in London this Fall
The new Elmwood Place is currently under construction in London, Ontario and is expected to open in Fall 2021. With 50 additional bed licenses allocated by the Ministry of Long-Term Care to increase access to care in the community, the new home will accommodate 128 residents with 60 per cent private rooms.

Revera Inc., founding partner of the Senior Living CaRES Fund (the CaRES Fund) joins Chartwell, Extendicare and Sienna to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Fund’s establishment. To date, the CaRES Fund has awarded more than $2.4 million in emergency financial assistance to 761 senior living employees across Canada.

Experts agree ownership did not drive outcomes in COVID-19 long term care home outbreaks
The pandemic impacted the entire long term care sector—non-profit and publicly-owned homes as well as privately-owned ones experienced severe outbreaks. Understanding the factors that contributed to the likelihood of these outbreaks requires rigorous analysis by experts with relevant academic training in statistical analysis who have professional credentials in the medical and public health fields. Fortunately, this kind of analysis has now been conducted and we have a growing body of work that can inform the discussion on how to bring about meaningful and necessary improvements to the sector.
