Meet Revera's board of directors
Michael Mueller
Chair, Board of Directors
Michael Mueller joined the Board in 2018 after retiring as the Chairman of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB), which he served from 2006 to 2018. Currently, Michael Mueller sits on the boards of Pediapharm, Mercal Capital Corporation, Smarter Alloys and Emily’s House. Prior to this, he was President and CEO of MDS Capital Corporation from 2003 to 2005, and held a series of senior positions at TD Bank Financial Group. Mr. Mueller holds an MBA from York University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario.
William G. Davis
Chair Emeritus
The Honourable William G. Davis joined the Board as Director and Chairman in March 2001, and has served as Chair Emeritus since March 2011. Mr. Davis served as the Premier of Ontario from 1971 to 1985, and was a Member of the Ontario Legislature from 1959 to 1985. He is currently Counsel at Davis Webb LLP in Brampton, Ontario. Mr. Davis is a Companion of the Order of Canada, a Member of the Order of Ontario, and a Member of the Privy Council.
Pierre Gibeault
Pierre Gibeault joined the Board in 2018 and is a member of the Investment and Corporate Governance and Human Resources Committee. Mr Gibeault served as the Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Investments at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB) from 2007 to 2019. Prior to joining PSPIB in 2007, Mr. Gibeault was President of the Real Estate Finance Group at MCAP, as well as Senior Vice President with CADIM. Mr. Gibeault holds an MBA from McGill University and a Bachelor degree in Civil Construction Technology from École de Technologie Supérieure.
Carole Guérin
Carole Guérin was appointed to the Board in 2018 and is a member of the Investment Committee, Audit Committee and Quality Assurance Committee. Ms. Guérin is currently the Managing Director of Real Estate at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB). Before joining PSPIB in 2005, Ms. Guérin held various positions in finance and real estate management, including First Québec Corporation, Westcliff, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Cadillac Fairview Corporation LTD. Ms. Guérin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from ESG UQAM and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Krystyna T. Hoeg
Chair, Audit Committee
Krystyna (Krys) Hoeg was appointed to the Board in 2014 and serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee and the Quality Assurance Committee. Ms. Hoeg is currently a Corporate Director, at Imperial Oil, New Flyer Industries and Samuel Son & Company Limited. Previously, she served on the boards of Toronto East General Hospital, Sun Life Financial, Canadian Pacific Railway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Cineplex and Ganong Chocolates. Ms. Hoeg was the President and CEO of Corby Distilleries Limited from 1996 until her retirement in 2007. Prior to that, she held various senior financial positions with Hiram Walker and Allied Domeq PLC.
Pat Jacobsen
Pat Jacobsen has served on the Board since June 2009 and is a member of the Investment Committee, the Quality Assurance Committee and the Corporate Governance and Human Resources Committee. She is also a Director of New Flyer Industries and a former director of Air Canada and Port Metro Vancouver. Ms. Jacobsen was the CEO of TransLink (Metro Vancouver's regional transportation authority), transportation deputy minister for Ontario and held various senior positions in the insurance industry.
Paul Raboud
Chair, Investment Committee
Paul Raboud brings a career’s worth of business leadership and construction expertise to his role as a member of Revera’s Board of Directors. Mr. Raboud was appointed to the Board in 2019 and is the chair of the Investment Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance & Human Resources Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bird Construction, one of Canada’s leading general contractors. He retired from Bird Construction in 2017 after a more than 33-year career including serving as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Raboud is also a member of the Board of Directors of Stephenson's Holdings Inc, SilverSun Homes Limited and is Past Chair of the Ontario General Contractors Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.
Terrance Royer
Chair, Corporate Governance and Human Resources Committee
Terrance Royer joined the Board in September 2014 and is Chair of the Corporate Governance and Human Resources Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and the Investment Committee. Mr. Royer has been an influential leader and an active member in the hospitality industry for more than 35 years. As one of the founders of Royco Hotels & Resorts, he grew the company in Canada, the U.S. and abroad through various mergers and acquisitions as well as creative joint ventures. During that time he also co-founded the Canadian Institute of Tourism (Conference Board of Canada), and served on for-profit and not-for-profit boards in various capacities. Mr. Royer is currently an active board member at Corus Entertainment Inc., and is Chairman Emeritus of the University of Lethbridge. His awards include the Queen's Jubilee Medal for Service to the Citizens of Canada and the Centennial Medal for Citizenship by the province of Alberta.
Calvin R Stiller
Chair, Quality Assurance Committee
Dr. Calvin Stiller has served on the Board since April 2002 and is Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee and member of the Investment Committee. He is a Professor Emeritus in Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, Chair of the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research, and a Director of MaRS. Dr. Stiller is Chairman of Stilco Investment Corporation. He is a Member of the Order of Ontario and an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Thomas G Wellner
President and Chief Executive Officer
Thomas Wellner has extensive global experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals and health care services in both public and private businesses. Prior to joining Revera in April 2014, Mr. Wellner was co-CEO of LifeLabs, and was previously President and CEO of CML HealthCare where he led the transformation of the organization by setting a new strategic direction, improving operational effectiveness and completing multiple transactions. He also served as President and CEO of Therapure Biopharma, a company specializing in contract development and manufacturing of biologics. He began his career at global pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly and held a variety of leadership roles, including President and General Manager of operations in Germany. Mr. Wellner holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, and has completed executive education through Harvard Business School. He has been a guest lecturer on international business and healthcare at Harvard, Rotman and INSEAD Schools of Business, and has been engaged in significant advisory work within public equity and venture capital communities.

Bill Jarvis
Bill Jarvis has been a resident at Revera’s Northridge Long Term Care home in Oakville, Ontario since 2013 and was appointed Revera’s first Resident Innovation Ambassador in March 2016. In 2017, the Ontario Long Term Care Association honoured Bill with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his advocacy for fellow long term care residents and his advisory role at Revera. Bill says that the Resident Innovation Ambassador role “gives me a renewed sense of purpose. I think I provide a unique perspective and hope to make a real difference in the lives of people living in long term care and the wider community.”
